At ChriShan Park, it’s a family affair…
Brothers Chris and Shan Wilson share a deep and common bond in their appreciation for horses, especially Arabian horses. Chris and Shan began training Arabians together when they were teens and their names were linked together so frequently that some people actually believed they were hearing about one extraordinary young horse trainer named “Chrisanshan Wilson.” And in 1982, ChriShan Park was established.
Today, Chris Wilson and Shan Wilson operate one of the most successful amateur and open training programs in the United States. In their updated and expanded Springfield facility they continue to specialize in English Pleasure training. Chris and Shan consistently bring well-trained and happy horses to the show arena. They are honest and straightforward with their clients and truly appreciate that showing horses should be a fun, no-stress, activity.
ChriShan Park is nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the Ozarks three miles north of Springfield, Missouri, on the historic Pine Crest Farm. Conveniently located just ten miles northeast of the Springfield/Branson National Airport and 35 miles from the Branson Airport, ChriShan Park is also an easy drive from St. Louis, Kansas City and Tulsa.
Renovated in 2010, ChriShan Park combines aspects of the old and new and offers:
- 85 stalls,
- 225′ by 84′ indoor arena,
- 60′ x 20′ lounge and office area that looks out into the indoor arena,
- indoor hot walker,
- breeding facilities,
- two indoor round pens,
- one outdoor round pen,
- two outdoor arenas–one 190’ x 80’ and the other 250’ x 120’,
- on-site guest housing with pool access.
On a sunny day you can find Chris and Shan working horses in one of the outdoor arenas while clients watch from a picnic table or gazebo, and there’s usually a picnic lunch. Riding with Chris and Shan is always fun and clients look forward to CSP weekends and horse shows to catch up with the CSP Barn Family. The venue is warm and welcoming, whether it is being used to host a Springfield charity event or a cookout for clients.
